5 Things About Racing Your First Enduro

#1. Sign Up already! Just do it, get in there, don’t talk about it be about it, cliché, cliché.

#2. Don’t take it too seriously. This is easier said than done for most of us, but even with a life of competitive experience I still sprinted out the start just to lock up the brakes 2 sec later with my legs toast. It’s not the World Cup, you don’t need to ride like a pro.

#3. Set realistic goals. Having fun and finishing with my bike and body intact are always my main goals at any race. Setting a result-based goal can lead to disappointment and to missing out on a lot of fun.

#4. Pre ride if you can. Racing blind is NOT confidence inspiring. Plus, unexpected surprises can really rattle people. Look for tricky tech but also places where you can let off the brakes and carry speed.

#5. Be social! Talk with people, joke a little, make a friend, our biking community is amazing and welcoming. Races are also a gathering of people who love bikes, just like you.
